This is A Houseplant Journal, a newsletter about my adventures + experiments in caring for a growing collection of 100+ houseplants.

I’ll be writing about how I went from having a “black thumb” to owning about 120 houseplants, and filling my home with them.

I’ll share the stories around my houseplants, feature some of my favourites, give tips and strategies for caring for your plants, share experiments and the occasional interview.

As much as I love looking at pictures at perfectly manicured plants, A Houseplant Journal is also a way of exploring the reality of owning plants. A plant you buy will never again look the way it looked in the store. And that’s okay. Your plants are developing character, based on the conditions in your house and how you care for them.

In addition to inspiring you, I also hope that you’ll share your stories and experiments with me. I’d love to create a community here around our shared love, enjoyment and experiments with houseplants.
